The Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) on Friday 26th July 2019, donated medical supplies and equipment to the Bomdwen Health Facility, Abompe – E/R as part of the organization’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to mark its 50th Anniversary Celebration.

This kind gesture was in fulfilment of a promise made by the CEO of GEPA, Ms Afua Asabea Asare to the Abompe Bauxite Beads Producers Association and the Health Centre when she led her team to commission a Bauxite Beads Craft Centre constructed by GEPA and its stakeholder agencies for the Abompe community.

The items worth Ghc45,000 were donated by Mr Albert Kassim Diwura (Deputy CEO) and assisted by Ms Akua Agyeiwaa Botwe (Director, HR and Administration) on behalf of GEPA Management and staff included;

Methylated Spirit, Multivitamin Tablets & Syrup, Analgesic Tablets and syrups for infants, Diclofenac Gel & Injections, Glucometers, Test Strips, Antibiotics, Sanitary items and a multifunctional weighing machine.

Mr Diwura emphasized that, one of GEPA’s major motivations for the donation was to resource the Bomdwen Health facility to better serve members of the Abompe Bauxite Beads Producers Association.

Nana Buabeng II, Sanaahene of Abompe who doubles as the Chairman of the Association of Bauxite Beads Producers expressed their utmost appreciation to GEPA for such a phenomenal gesture in the life of the bauxite beads producers and the surrounding villages.

The caretaker/head of the health centre, Mrs Lydia Yeboah (Snr. Staff Midwife) and her supporting staff were overwhelmed by the quantum of medical supplies donated to the facility. She assured the GEPA Team that they will work diligently to ensure the health and wellbeing of all the village folk.
