Equipping the Public with Export Skills is Germane to increased Export- GEPA BOSS

The Chief Executive officer of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Hon. Gifty Klenam has opened the first session of the Ghana Export School in 2018, to introduce exporters and to be exporters on the rudiments of exporting. The session, which happens to be the first in the series for 2018, has been well patronized by the various publics, including the business community, banks, academia and the exporter community.

Welcoming the participants, the CEO underscored the relevance of the school to the GEPA and the public in the export drive agenda of the Authority. She intimated that the aim of the School is to ensure that participants understand the fundamental principles of exports, given the competitive nature of the global market place. Moreover, exporting is a serious undertaking that requires constant skills and information update to be able to align to the dynamic and fluid export environment.

She further stated that the modules for the export school would be constantly reviewed to align with changing dynamics and trends.

The Ghana Export School is a virtual school organized by the Ghana Export Promotion Authority with the view to equipping the public with requisite export skills. The four-day interactive training session revolves around Export Marketing Fundamentals – a course, tailor-made for individuals and firms interested taking up export as a business.

The course will look at topics ranging from Market Research, Export Procedures, International Trade Fairs and Exhibitions, Packaging and Labeling for Exports, the ECOWAS Market to Services Export. Seasoned academics, export practitioners, bankers, industry players and individuals from parastatals handle these topics.

Over forty (40) persons, companies and intuitions have signed up for the Export School Programme. The workshop starts today Monday, March 12  2018 and ends on Thursday, March 15, 2018.

Many export school sessions will be organized in the course of the year.
