GEPA and Afreximbank Meet to Foster Strategic Collaboration

The Ghana Export Promotion Authority has held series of engagements with Afreximbank and other affiliated institutions to look at possible areas of collaboration that will generate the necessary synergies in the area of export trade support.

The discussions, which have been held both virtually and in-person have centered around SME development and growth, financial resource mobilization for SMES and corporate governance, as well as the participation of Ghanaian companies in the Ghana Trade Roadshow, being organised by Oakwood Green Africa Ltd (Oakwood Green) at the Marriot Hotel on the 29th June to 1st July 2022.

On the 10th of June 2022, the two parties met again virtually to discuss the modalities of working towards the common goal of empowering SMEs in the country, especially those in the export space. During the intercourse, the Authority presented a bouquet of programs that provides opportunity for collaboration. Notable among the projects were National Export Development Strategy sensitization at the district level, incorporating e-Commerce functionality into the Market Hub, the Export School and replication of the Impact Hub in other parts of the country.

Afreximbank on their part gave a presentation on their flagship project referred to as MANSA. The discussions looked at how GEPA can educate, support and on-board the SMEs under its purview unto the MANSA platform. The MANSA serves as a repository of information and due diligence platform for companies on the continent and beyond that are keen on trading.

The CEO of GEPA, Dr. Asare and Mr. Dentu Deputy CEO Finance and Operation, who led the GEPA team assured officials of Afreximbank of GEPA’s willingness to collaborate with the Bank on many fronts going forward.
