GEPA CEO Visits Northshore Apparel to Discuss Business Growth and Export Opportunities
As part of his Upper East Regional working visit, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Mr. Francis Kojo Kwarteng Arthur Esq., visited Northshore Apparel GH Ltd.
He met with the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Nurideen Mohammed, and members of the management team. The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to discuss the company’s operations, expansion plans and export ambitions.
Discussions on Expansion and Export Growth
At the heart of the meeting were discussions about the company’s plans to expand its operations and reach more international markets. The team also looked at the support GEPA can provide as Northshore Apparel works towards growing its export business.
Speaking during the engagement, Mr. Francis Kojo Kwarteng Arthur Esq. encouraged the company to make use of GEPA’s programmes and services. These include international trade fairs, business matchmaking opportunities and export development initiatives.
He explained that GEPA’s engagement with exporters is important because it allows the Authority to understand the challenges businesses face. It also helps the Authority identify areas where practical support can make a difference.
In addition, Mr. Arthur highlighted the role of companies such as Northshore Apparel in growing Ghana’s non-traditional exports. He noted that the expansion of local manufacturing can create jobs, increase value addition and put more Ghanaian products on international shelves.
Northshore Apparel Appreciates GEPA’s Support
Following the CEO’s remarks, Mr. Nurideen Mohammed, CEO of Northshore Apparel GH Ltd, expressed his appreciation to GEPA for the visit and the support the company has received from the Authority.
He spoke about the opportunities Northshore Apparel has gained through its relationship with GEPA, particularly in accessing international markets and connecting with potential business partners.
Mr. Mohammed also shared the company’s plans for further expansion and expressed confidence in the opportunities ahead. He noted that being part of the GEPA network gives the company access to programmes and opportunities that can support its continued growth.
Beyond the discussions in the meeting room, the visit also gave GEPA’s leadership a closer look at Northshore Apparel’s operations. This helped the team gain a better understanding of the company’s production activities, ambitions and the areas where additional support may be required.
Building Stronger Links with Exporters
The engagement with Northshore Apparel is part of GEPA’s wider efforts to maintain close contact with businesses across the country.
For the Authority, such visits provide an opportunity to hear directly from exporters and understand what they need to grow. For businesses, they create a platform to engage with GEPA’s leadership and discuss opportunities that can help them expand.
As Ghana works to increase its non-traditional export earnings, stronger links between export businesses and institutions such as GEPA will be important. Supporting companies to increase production, access new markets and compete internationally can help create more jobs and bring greater value to Ghana’s export sector.
GEPA will continue to engage businesses across the regions and work with them to identify opportunities for growth, market access and increased exports of Made-in-Ghana products.
