GEPA DCEO Leads Ghanaian Exhibitors at SHOPPE OBJECT in New York
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) in charge of Administration and Operations, Mr. Ambrose Edwin Nsarkoh, led a delegation of Ghanaian exhibitors at SHOPPE OBJECT, one of the United States’ leading trade exhibitions for home décor, gifts, lifestyle and artisan products.
The exhibition provided Ghanaian businesses with an important platform to showcase their products to an international audience, engage potential buyers and explore opportunities to expand their presence in the U.S. market.
As part of his engagements at the exhibition, Mr. Nsarkoh toured the Ghana Pavilion with the Consul General of the Republic of Ghana, Mr. Tony El-Adas. The Consul General visited the exhibition to engage with the participating exhibitors and demonstrate support for Ghanaian businesses showcasing their products on the international stage.
The visit also provided an opportunity for discussions with exhibitors on their experiences at the exhibition, the opportunities available in the U.S. market and the support required to strengthen their export prospects.
Showcasing Ghanaian Creativity to the World
The Ghana Pavilion provided a strong platform for participating businesses to present a diverse range of Made-in-Ghana products, highlighting the creativity, craftsmanship, quality and innovation of Ghana’s creativeand artisan industries.
The exhibitors used the platform to engage directly with buyers, retailers, designers and other industry professionals, introducing them to products that combine Ghanaian cultural identity with contemporary designs and international market appeal.
These interactions opened up opportunities for the businesses to establish new contacts, explore potential commercial partnerships and better understand the expectations of consumers in the U.S. market.
The exhibition also gave the participating companies valuable exposure to evolving trends in the home décor, gift and lifestyle sectors. Through engagements with buyers and industry players, exhibitors gained insights that can inform product development, packaging, presentation and positioning for the international market.
Strengthening Ghana’s Export Presence
Beyond the exhibition floor, Ghana’s participation in SHOPPE OBJECT reinforced the importance of creating platforms that connect Ghanaian businesses directly with international markets.
For the participating exhibitors, the event was an opportunity not only to display their products but also to build relationships that could support future business, identify potential buyers and distributors, and assess the competitiveness of their products in the U.S. market.
The participation further demonstrated the growing potential of Ghana’s creative, home décor, lifestyle and artisan products as part of the country’s broader export offering.
Through initiatives such as participation in international trade exhibitions, GEPA continues to facilitate market access for Ghanaian businesses and create opportunities for Made-in-Ghana products to gain visibility and commercial traction in global markets.
The successful participation at SHOPPE OBJECT therefore served as another step in positioning Ghanaian products for greater international exposure while supporting exporters to build the relationships and market knowledge needed to compete effectively beyond Ghana.
