GEPA donates GHS10,000 to Agric Ministry for 2023 National Farmers’ Day celebration
The Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) has presented an amount of GHS10,000 to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) in support of this year’s National Farmers’ Day.
Alexander Dadzawa, Director of Projects at GEPA, who presented the cheque on behalf of the CEO, Dr. Afua Asabea Asare, emphasised that the donation reflects the organization’s commitment to the advancement of agriculture and the well-being of farmers.
He highlighted GEPA’s ongoing support through initiatives like the Youth in Export Programme (YieP) and the Coconut Revitalization Programme. These programmes involve providing farmers with free seedlings and other essential agricultural inputs.
The Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Yaw Frimpong Addo, commended GEPA for the gesture and advocated for sustained collaboration between the two organisations.
The 2023 National Farmers’ Day, which marks its 39th edition, will be held on December 1, 2023, at the University of Mines and Technology (UMAT) in Tarkwa, in the Western Region, under the theme “Delivering Smart Solutions for Sustainable Food Security and Resilience.”
