GEPA Honours Hard Working Exporters

Fifty-five companies have been honoured by the Ghana Export Promotion Authority for their excellence in exports at the President’s National Awards for Export Achievement in 2017 & 2018.

The plush event held at the Kempinski Gold Coast City Hotel had Hon. Alan Kyerematen Minister of Trade & Industry as Guest of Honour with other Ministers of State and Members of the Diplomatic Corps in attendance. Glowing tributes were paid to past Chief Executives of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority who were also Special Guests at the Event.

HPW Fresh and Dry Ltd. swept 8 awards in total – the highest number of awards in the silver and gold categories for both 2017 and 2018 and also won the Most Diversified Exporter for 2017 and 2018.

The Woman Exporter of the Year for 2017 went to Madam Rose Mensah of Ernimich Co. Ltd. exporters of Gari, melon seed and spices while Emelia Adjei Ohene-Kena, CEO of Royal Crown Packaging Ltd. exporters of articles of printing and printed matter won the 2018 Woman Exporter of the Year.

Wilmar Africa Limited, exporters of vegetable oils and fatty acids was the next highest recipient of awards, taking home 5 awards in the silver and gold categories for both years and winning the Overall Exporter of the Year for 2017.

Kingdom Exim Ghana Ltd. exporters of agro commodities also won 3 awards in silver and gold for 2017 & 2018 for the export of cashew and yams.

Overall exporter of the year for 2018 went to Volta Aluminium Company Ltd (VALCO) for the export of aluminium ingots.
