GEPA Impact Hub hosts product packaging workshop for women entrepreneurs

The Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) in collaboration with the Ghanaian Women in Trade With AFCFTA (GWITA) has organised a training workshop on product packaging and labeling for 20 women-led business owners selected from across the country.
The programme, held at the GEPA Impact Hub, on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, covered topics such as product branding, regulatory compliance and target market labeling requirements.
Former Director of Marketing at GEPA and Chief Facilitator for the programme, Gifty Agnes Adjei-Sam, encouraged business owners to prioritise investing in packaging rather than treating it as an afterthought.
She said, proper product packaging is essential for protection, marketing, and driving sales through customer experience.
Augustina Serwaah Dankwa, Head of Training at GEPA, announced that the GEPA Export School will incorporate more in-depth sessions on packaging, placing greater emphasis on this critical area to equip participants with the highest-quality, up-to-date information and skills needed to meet international standards.
She said the move aligns with a directive from the CEO of GEPA, Francis Kojo Kwarteng Arthur, Esq., to ensure that Ghanaian products have the right packaging to attract international buyers.
The Vice President of GWITA, Lucy Afari, expressed gratitude to GEPA for establishing the Impact Hub, to provide free IT services to Ghanaian exporters.
She urged members of the association to actively utilise the resource to strengthen their export readiness and enhance their competitiveness in global markets.
