GEPA, ITC SheTrades and UPS equip Ghanaian businesses with digital and financial skills
The Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), in partnership with the International Trade Centre (ITC) SheTrades Initiative and the UPS Women Exporters Programme (WEP), supported Ghanaian entrepreneurs with practical digital and financial skills to strengthen their businesses and explore opportunities in international markets.

The support was delivered through the ITC SheTrades x UPS WEP x GEPA Ghana Workshop, held under the theme, “Connect, Sell, Grow: Digital and Financial Growth for Ghanaian Businesses.” The two-day workshop brought together entrepreneurs for practical sessions focused on the use of digital tools, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and financial strategies to improve business performance and support growth.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of GEPA in charge of Marketing and Promotions, Mr. Raymond Rashid Kramer, reaffirmed the Authority’s efforts to advance the development and promotion of Made-in-Ghana products and services under the Government’s Accelerated Export Development Programme.
Mr. Kramer emphasised the importance of equipping Ghanaian businesses with the skills and resources needed to compete effectively in the global marketplace. He encouraged participants to apply the knowledge gained from the workshop to strengthen their operations, improve their digital presence and position their businesses for export.
He also highlighted the Ghana Trade Houses in London and Philadelphia as strategic platforms for expanding market access for Ghanaian enterprises. He explained that the facilities would provide opportunities for businesses to connect with international buyers, distributors and potential partners, while creating avenues for Made-in-Ghana products to gain greater visibility in key markets.
The workshop placed particular emphasis on the opportunities presented by the digital economy. Participants explored practical ways of using AI and other digital tools to support business operations, reach customers and improve their competitiveness. Sessions on financial growth also provided entrepreneurs with insights to help them make informed financial decisions and build more sustainable businesses.
The programme brought together expertise from GEPA, ITC, UPS, VISA and the Embassy of Switzerland in Ghana. The opening session featured remarks from Ms. Magdalena Wüst, Deputy Head of Cooperation at the Embassy of Switzerland in Ghana; Mr. Goodwill Kwame Agbleze of VISA; Ms. La’Kerri Jackson, Global Director of Social Impact at UPS; and Ms. Kritee Sharrma, Partnerships Lead of the SheTrades Initiative at ITC.
The collaboration forms part of broader efforts to strengthen the capacity of Ghanaian businesses, particularly women-led enterprises, by providing them with practical knowledge and tools to navigate the changing business environment and pursue opportunities in regional and international markets.
