GEPA signs WTPO 2020 MOU with ITC

Ghana Export Promotion Authority has had intense but fruitful engagements with the International Trade Centre(ITC) at Geneva, Switzerland this week, where all ongoing and upcoming projects partnered by ITC were discussed and reviewed.

Top among these being; Alliance for Action(A4A), SheTrades Commonwealth Project, SheTrades Ghana Chapter, Trade for Sustainable Development (T4SD), Non Tarriff Measures(NTM), Packaging and Design Week Project, Youth in Export Program, E-Commerce, Export School.

The GEPA team also participated in the celebration of MSME Day where ITC’s flagship publication, ‘SME Competitive Outlook 2019’ was launched.

The Chief Executive Officer of GEPA, Afua Asabea Asare and Chief Executive Officer of Kaeme Comestics, Freda Obeng Ampofo sat on a panel to discuss “Big Money for Small Business”. Madam Asare impressed on the International Trade bodies like WTO and ITC to lead intermediary organizations like GEPA to where the big money is to enable the support of MSMEs who need this money to oil Ghana’s economic growth.

GEPA also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for hosting the World Trade Promotion Organization(WTPO) Conference and Awards 2020 in Accra, Ghana.

It will be recalled that during the WTPO Conference and Awards 2018, in Paris, Ghana Export Promotion Authority won the bid against Turkey, Egypt and Kenya to host the WTPO Conference and Awards 2020 in Accra, Ghana
