Import promotion desk to increase agricultural exports from Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana to Europe

The regional office of the Import Promotion Desk (IPD) has opened in the Ivorian economic metropolis of Abidjan to help facilitate trade between the two West African countries of Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana with Europe.

The IPD will be headed by Sabrina Jauss.

At the opening event, entrepreneurs and industry representatives were joined in Côte d’Ivoire by Ingo Herbert and Frederick Daniel Laryea, the ambassadors of Germany and Ghana. Both emphasized the opportunities for more value creation in the agricultural sector in the two West African countries, especially for exports to Europe. “With our regional office in Côte d’Ivoire, we will make our work with export companies and also with local partners even more efficient. This will enable us to screen potential export companies even better and respond to the needs of buyers in Europe,” said Dr Julia Bellinghausen, Head of the Import Promotion Desk in Bonn, Germany.
