Beautycounter names Gina Boswell as new Chairwoman; appoints Dasha Smith as an Independent Director of Board

THE WHAT? Beautycounter has bolstered its female leadership having appointed Gina Boswell as new Chairwoman, with Dasha Smith announced as an Independent Director of its Board.

THE DETAILS Effective immediately, Boswell succeeds John Replogle, who will remain a Director.

A beauty industry expert, Boswell was most recently President, Customer Development, Unilever North America, having previously held the positions of CEO, Unilever UK & Ireland and EVP, Personal Care, North America, President, Global Brands of Alberto-Culver and SVP & COO of Avon Products North America.

Smith will be the fifth woman to join the Board.

THE WHY? Promoted as a female-led company since its launch in 2011 by Gregg Renfrew, the new appointments help extend the presence of women at the top.
