DDG Wolff: Multilateral trading system is essential to economic well-being

In a speech delivered at the Lowy Institute in Sydney, Australia, on 17 September, Deputy Director-General Alan Wolff outlined the challenges and opportunities facing the world trading system. He highlighted the importance of a single set of rules for world trade and said that, in striving to improve the world trading system, governments would ultimately “determine that the multilateral trading system and the liberal international order that it supports are essential to the economic well-being of their peoples”.
