Former Mars exec joins Chanel as Global Head of Sustainability

THE WHAT? Chanel has named Kate Wylie as Global Chief Sustainability Officer and President of Fondation Chanel, effective July 1, according to a report published by WWD.

THE DETAILS Wylie replaces Andrea d’Avack, who is due to retire in June, and will join the company in April in order to ensure a smooth transition. She joins from Mars Inc where she has held the role of Global Vice President of Sustainability since September 2017, according to her Linked In entry.

THE WHY? Chanel told WWD in a statement, “[Wylie] has a deep understanding of business operations and sustainability issues across the value chain, and is recognized for her extensive experience in this field.”
