Reckitt Benckiser Hong Kong Wellness in Action Index to promote wellness ahead of Lunar New Year

THE WHAT? Reckitt Benckiser (RB) has released the findings of its Hong Kong Wellness in Action Index in a bid to help promote wellness amongst Hong Kong consumers ahead of the Lunar New Year, according to Taiwan News.

THE DETAILS The recently commissioned survey aimed to assess consumer habits in terms of physical, mental and social wellbeing, as well as analyse the way in which they build health habits.

The survey shows that the public’s level of satisfaction on their social wellbeing is 59 points out of 100. However, the pandemic drove home positive changes among respondents, with 80 percent stating they had an increased awareness of personal wellbeing, while 76 percent said they care more for the people around them.

More emphasis was placed on developing health habits, with over 90 percent of participants wanting to develop them in 2021, however, just 40 percent said they had confidence in maintaining the drive.

Young people were less concerned about hygiene habits, with 56 percent of respondents aged 30 or above aiming to “live a more hygienic life” in 2021, while only 38 percent of those aged between 12 and 29 had the same goal.

THE WHY? The first wellness study produced by RB, Pankaj Agarwal, Reckitt Benckiser’s General Manager Hong Kong & Taiwan, stated, “As a leader in FMCG industry, we launched the first ‘Hong Kong Wellness in Action’ Index, together with the professional advice from the expert panel, we hope to leverage our trusted brands’ expertise to provide all-rounded information and practical tips to the public, helping Hong Kong citizens to take a proactive approach in kick-starting a healthier lifestyle in the new normal.”
