Thai education authority green lights cannabis course
THE WHAT? Thailand’s Health and Education Ministries have agreed to create a course that will guide students through the use of cannabis in cosmetics and food, according to a report published by Bloomberg.
THE DETAILS The module will be on offer at educational institutions based in regions that boast community enterprises permitted to grow the plant. It’s hoped that the move will encourage the creation of a new string to Thailand’s tourism bow.
THE WHY? Thailand was among the first countries in Asia to legalize medical marijuana and has relaxed restrictions on its use in cosmetics, food and textiles too, says Bloomberg. This course is designed to ‘meet market demand, be legal, modern, safe and beneficial to the health and economy’, Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said in a statement per Bloomberg.
