GEPA HOSTS SECOND EDITION OF SMEs AND BANKS FORUM
As part of its project to upscale the activities of SMEs in the export sector through financial resource mobilization, The Ghana Export Promotion Authority hosted the SMEs and Banks Forum under the theme “Financial Resource Mobilization: A key Factor in SME Growth” at the Golden Tulip (Lancaster), hotel, Kumasi on 16th September, 2022.
The forum is meant to create one platform for SMEs on one hand and bank and non-bank financial institutions on the other to discuss dispassionately the financing conundrum SMEs face. In all 5 reputable banks comprising African Export Import Bank (Afrexim), Ghana Export and Import Bank (GEXIM), Zenith Bank Ghana Limited, Access Bank Ghana Limited and Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited.
Welcoming the guests, the Deputy CEO of GEPA in charge of Finance and Operations, Mr. Samuel Dentu stated that hosting a forum of that nature was essential as it provided a space for exporters to share their financial challenges with the banks which in turn provides the banks the opportunity to share the various financial products/services available for exporters and businesses.
The participating banks were pleased to share their various products and services accessible to both potential and regular exporters and admonished them to work collaboratively to export more for Ghana.
Participants expressed their profound gratitude and appreciation to GEPA for creating the platform, especially knowing some of the amazing offers the banks have to offer.
The Ghana Export Promotion Authority continues to initiate programs that will speak to the needs of exporters so that together we can build a more resilient and export driven economy.
