Skipjack – Promising Markets (2016)

Tunisia is Ghana’s #1 export market, accounting for more than half of Ghana’s skipjack exports. The Tunisian import market is developing favorably with global imports up by 11% annually over the last five years. Ghana performed even better on this market, with growth rates of 53%. As such, there seems potential to advance growth in this market.

Colombian imports grew strongly in 2011-2015, with +170% on average per year. USA is the dominant supplier, followed by Samoa. Ghana has the same position as these countries in terms of import tariffs and even has a beneficial geographical location compared to Samoa.
