NAMIBIAN DELEGATION VISITS GEPA

A high-level trade delegation from Namibia led by the High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Selma Ashipala-Musavyi in the company of 12 other officials has paid a courtesy call to the Ghana Export Promotion Authority.

The purpose of the visit was to explore areas of trade cooperation as well as learn about Ghana’s Export ecosystem. The Namibian Delegation also indicated that they came as part of their preparations towards their participation in the World Trade Centre’s 53rd General Assembly scheduled for April this year in Accra, the first of such to be held in any country south of the Sahara.

The delegation was received on behalf of the CEO by Mr. Alex Dadzawa – Director of Projects – and other Heads of the various Departments in GEPA.

Despite the obvious admissions of the very low trade volumes between the two countries, both sides pledged full commitment to see to the reversal of the status quo since there have been times when the data was on a positive trajectory. Other areas of interest discussed bordered on issues of market compliance, best practices in Ghana’s trade sub-sector, areas of competitive advantage and efficient ways of working with other trade-related Agencies.

In its show of good cooperation, GEPA presented souvenirs to the delegation on behalf of the CEO.
