DDG Ellard urges members to secure entry into force of Fisheries Subsidies Agreement

Speaking virtually to a UN High Level Political Forum in New York on 7 July, Deputy Director-General Angela Ellard discussed the WTO’s recent action in achieving UN Sustainable Development Goal 14.6 on eliminating harmful fisheries subsidies through the conclusion of the new Fisheries Subsidies Agreement. She called on WTO members to complete their acceptance processes quickly so that the Agreement enters into force and starts delivering its benefits for ocean sustainability.
