DDG Wolff urges members to increase engagement, flexibility in farm trade talks

WTO members must increase their engagement and exercise flexibility to accommodate others’ interests if they are to break the longstanding deadlock in the negotiations on agricultural reform, Deputy Director-General Alan Wolff said on 18 January. Speaking to the 11th Global Forum for Food and Agriculture in Berlin, DDG Wolff also highlighted the importance of digitalization to the future of agriculture but said national regulations and international commitments must be adjusted in order to reap its benefits.
