DDG Zhang calls for strengthened cooperation in Latin America through WTO Chairs Programme

Speaking at the opening of a seminar titled “Negotiations, Economic Resilience and Commerce” held on 14-15 November at the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar (UASB) in Quito, Ecuador, Deputy Director-General Xiangchen Zhang underlined the importance of trade capacity-building in Latin America through enhanced coordination within the WTO Chairs Programme (WCP). The event, attended by academics, government officials and trade experts from eight Latin American countries, covered a wide range of topics, including regional trade agreements, the WTO’s dispute settlement system, agricultural trade, food security, e-commerce and services trade.
