DDG Zhang stresses role of trade in advancing development and facilitating peace
The WTO accession process can help to address the technology gap between least-developed countries (LDCs) and fragile and conflict-affected states (FCSs) and more developed economies, said Deputy Director-General Zhang. Speaking at a session of the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) Forum on 10 November, DDG Zhang explained that trade-related aspects of e-commerce and technology transfer can support the peace agenda and the WTO’s Trade for Peace Programme.
