DG Azevêdo in India: Flexibility is the essential ingredient for the global trading system

Speaking at an event organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry in New Delhi on 19 March, Director-General Roberto Azevêdo said India has always played an important role in the WTO and that a constructive approach is needed from all key WTO members to protect and strengthen the multilateral trading system. He reiterated that “in a system with 164 members of different sizes, different priorities and different stages of development, the only way to advance is by being flexible”.
