DG Okonjo-Iweala: Trade policy must catalyse green transformation, support climate adaptation

Trade and trade policy must act as catalysts for the transformation of how we produce, consume and live if humankind is to successfully overcome the impact of climate change, Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala said on 19 September at the opening ceremony for “Climate Week NYC” held in New York City. A new WTO policy brief titled “Climate change adaptation and trade,” released alongside the event, details how trade can help countries adapt to climate change and the role of the WTO in addressing climate-related issues.
