Members advance discussions on addressing challenges in implementing SPS Agreement

WTO members held a second round of consultations on 8-10 February to discuss progress in carrying out the work programme of the MC12 Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Declaration aimed at identifying and addressing challenges in the implementation of the Agreement on the Application of SPS Measures. At a meeting of the SPS Committee on 10 February, members reiterated their commitment to enhance cooperation on addressing the emerging challenges affecting food safety and animal and plant health and to promote a more effective application of the SPS Agreement.
