Members conclude tariff quota review, discuss food security, farm policies, transparency

WTO members successfully concluded the first triennial review of the Bali Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) Decision at a meeting of the Agriculture Committee on 27-28 June. While continuing to review each other’s farm policies to ensure compliance with WTO disciplines, members actively participated in focused discussions on food security. Additionally, they discussed a counter-notification concerning India’s market price support (MPS) for rice and wheat. Participants further deliberated on strategies to improve transparency and enhance the overall functioning of the committee.
