Panel established to review Thailand’s compliance with WTO ruling on cigarette taxes, duties

At its meeting on 27 March, the Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) agreed to establish a second panel to determine whether Thailand complied with a previous WTO ruling regarding Thai customs and fiscal measures on cigarettes from the Philippines. The DSB also considered requests for panels from Canada regarding US anti-dumping and countervailing duties on Canadian softwood lumber and from Indonesia regarding Australia’s anti-dumping duties on Indonesian A4 paper.
