Officials of Standard Bank and Stanbic Ghana Visit GEPA

Representatives from the Standard Bank and Stanbic Ghana paid a working visit to GEPA and our CEO Dr. Asabea Asare used the opportunity to share a number of capacity-building initiatives from GEPA including, the ongoing GEPA Export School providing training sessions to make our Exporters “export-ready”, Youth in Export Project and embarking on market missions with the objective of linking Exporters to market destinations.

Other areas of potential interest in partnership that were discussed included Warehouses and Distribution Centres in other parts of the continent and pushing the boundaries to promote fine art from Ghanaian artists.

Mr. Philip Myburgh, Head of Trade and Africa-China, Standard Bank who led the visiting Team spoke about the unique features of the Standard Bank in relation to its position of advantage within the China market. He noted how his bank was keen on breaking the usual negative myths associated with banking institutions and shared his excitement at possible partnerships that provide practical solutions for Exporters. One of such initiatives is  the matchmaking sessions with “willing sellers & willing buyers” on one platform.

We look forward to firming up collaborations that would enable our Exporters’ businesses to flourish in a sustainable manner. Stay tuned…
